Based Embedded Mini-ITX Solution

Thursday, May 8, 2003 (TAIPEI) - COMMELL Systems Corporation announces the industrial compact MiniITX mobile Intel Pentium 4 motherboard, the LV-670M series, based on the mobile Intel Pentium 4 processor-M platform. With the features come from Intel's latest mobile CPU technology, COMMELL LV-670M offers the advanced computing solution for the industrial low power, embedded and fan free computing application.

To meet the growing demand of compact and powerful motherboard for industrial computing platform, COMMELL upgrade the existent LV-670 family to the new LV-670M with Intel mobile solution. Since 2001, COMMELL started to do the Mini-FlexATX embedded motherboard based on Intel Socket 370 architecture. By 2002, COMMELL succeed to do the Intel Pentium 4 based Mini-FlexATX (MiniITX) embedded motherboard, and it's also the first solution all over the world that makes it possible to have Intel Pentium 4 CPU and so many features within such a compact, only 170x170mm of board size. 

In spite of the features of mobile Intel Pentium 4 processor-M, COMMELL LV-670M are based on Intel 845GV and ICH4 chipset, and integrated with Intel NetBurst microarchitecture, 400 MHz FSB, 1 GBytes DDR266/333 SDRAM, Intel Extreme Graphics, single/dual channel 18-/24-bit LVDS, Intel PRO/100+ LAN, Hi-Speed USB 2.0, IEEE 1394, 5.1-Channel & S/P DIF audio, TV-out and solid state flash disk interfaces. With these features, COMMELL LV-670M should be the ideal solution for POS/POI, Kiosk, ATM, LCD PC, thin client, transaction and multimedia workstation, Panel PC, car PC, book-size and slim-type PC, DVR (Digital Video Recorder), STB (Set-Top-Box) and industrial compact computing platform.

Compact Mini-FlexATX / MiniITX Form Factor @ 170 x 170 mm

COMMELL is based on the ultra compact mini-FlexATX / MiniITX form factor at 170 x 170 mm of dimension, meets the demand of compact and powerful computing platform. With the compact board size, COMMELL LV-670M can meet most of the industrial embedded PC application.

Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor-M Platform

Based on Intel latest technology on the mobile solution, COMMELL LV-670M is integrated with mobile Intel Pentium 4 processor-M embedded CPU with Intel NetBurst Microarchitecture, 400 MHz FSB, 512KB L2 advanced transfer cache, Intel Hyper Pipelined technology, rapid execution engine, streaming SIMD extensions 2, 128-bit enhanced floating point unit, execution trace cache and advanced dynamic execution. The optimized low power consumption and flexible 478-pin Micro-FCPGA package also make COMMELL be the ideal solution for embedded, low power, compact and mobile industrial computing platform. 

Onboard Single/Dual Channel 18-/24-bit LVDS TFT LCD Interface

To meet the demand of LCD-based industrial PC application, COMMELL LV-670M is integrated with onboard LVDS transmitter and offers the single/dual channel 18-/24-bit LVDS interface for TFT LCD with up to 1800 x 1200 of resolution and 24 bpp of color. With this feature, COMMELL LV-670M can meet the requirement of industrial workstation, POS/POI, kiosk, ATM, LCD PC, panel PC, GPS/Car PC, and the computing platform with LVDS-based LCD flat panel.

Value / High Performance Multimedia Solution

The advanced multimedia performance of COMMELL LV-670M comes from the embedded mobile Intel Pentium 4 processor-M CPU, Intel 845GV chipset built-in Intel Extreme Graphics with 266 MHz VGA core, Intel Dynamic Video Memory up to 64 MBytes, and onboard AV / S-Video TV-out and 5.1-Channel & S/P DIF 3D audio interfaces. The powerful digital video, image and audio processing capacity makes COMMELL LV-670M be suitable for VoD (Video on Demand), STB (Set Top Box), DVR (Digital Video Recorder), DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting), video streaming, surveillance,  POS, Kiosk, ATM, Panel PC, interaction and transaction workstation and terminal applications.

Hi-Speed USB 2.0 and IEEE 1394 Interface

COMMELL LV-670M offers both of Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface with Intel ICH4 chipset and IEEE 1394 interface with onboard Agere FW323 chipset. The Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface offers up to 480 Mbps and IEEE 1394 interface offers 100/200/400 Mbps of data transfer rate. 

Embedded OS Compatibility and Solid State Flash Disk Interface

Based on Intel's platform, COMMELL LV-670M is compatible with popular embedded OS including Microsoft WinCE, WinCE.NET, Embedded NT, Embedded XP, Embedded Linux, QNX, VxWorks and others. The onboard IDE-based, bootable and driver free DiskOnModule flash disk interface also offers the reliable solid state disk for high reliability and disk free industrial embedded application.
